DEMOCRACY IS IN THE AIR
Three African nations, namely Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya have recently undergone revolutions, overturning undemocratic and authoritarian governments that have been in power for decades without the consent of their people.

Article 4 of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections & Governance (2007) says:
1. State Parties shall commit themselves to promote democracy, the principle of the rule of law and human rights.
2. State Parties shall recognize popular participation through universal suffrage as the inalienable right of the people.

Trois nations africaines, à savoir la Tunisie, l’Egypte et la Libye viennent de vivre des révolutions, en renversant des gouvernements non démocratiques et autoritaires qui ont été au pouvoir pendant des décennies sans le consentement de leurs gens.

L’Article 4 de la Charte Africaine sur la Démocratie, les Elections & la Gouvernance (2007) stipule:
1. Les Etats partis s’engageront à promouvoir la démocratie, le principe d’état de droit et les droits humains.
2. Les Etats partis reconnaîtront la participation populaire à travers le suffrage universel en tant que droit inaliénable des gens.
