As we look forward to 2014, we reflect on 2013. The year 2013 has been significant for all of us in many ways. Like most things in life, some moments have been great and memorable while others have given us opportunities to learn and resolve never to give up.
2013 has been a landmark year for FEMNET as it marks our 25 years of existence! It has been an eventful year – with the launch of our documentary – WOMEN RISING: Political Leadership in Africa; surviving Westgate; engagement in the Justice for Liz Campaign and taking our demands to the streets; hosting our 6th Tri-Annual Programming Conference and General Assembly, resulting in the elections of our new board; engagement in the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals; and so much more!

We acknowledge with much appreciation all the support we have received from you all without which we wouldn’t be here; our members, our partners, our colleagues and our friends – united in the struggle for gender equality and the realization of our vision; women’s rights.
We look forward to together, in 2014 and beyond, amplifying the voices of African women, pushing for gender equality and the realization of women’s rights and ultimately the aspirations of our beloved continent.
