In the July 2014 E-Bulletin, we bring you the latest news from FEMNET Secretariat and brief highlights on what’s happening in Africa and the world including fellowship opportunities, awards, upcoming events and e-resources

Noteworthy, the 23rd AU Summit concluded with the adoption of the theme for the next Summit as“Year of Women’s Empowerment and Development towards Africa’s Agenda 2063”. We invite you to not only popularize it but also to purposefully engage with your leaders and wider constituencies to contribute and truly make it a year of women’s empowerment and development. The Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals has produced its final report, which contains 17 proposed goals for the consideration of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014. Join in the ongoing debates and conversations around advancing sustainable development and creating a truly just world – future generations will be glad you did! Together with our partnersAWID, SOAWR and Equality Now we have renewed calls to Bring Back Our Girls through an online campaign as well as launch of the user generated site – please visit and add your voice.
