Ahead of the historic adoption of the 2030 Development Agenda (also referred to as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs), FEMNET and the Solidarity for African Women’s Rights (SOAWR) Coalition released the statement African Women & Girls Call on their Governments to Support Gender Equality in Totality in the 2030 Agenda for SustainableDevelopment, which was endorsed by other 140 organizations, calling on world leaders – from the regional to international levels – to demonstrate political will, domesticate and allocate adequate resources to implement the “2030 Agenda” and other progressive regional and global agreements they have already signed.

In this Issue, we share with you highlights and analysis of the SDGs – including a list of all the 17 goals, which are also available online. For sure, with a real commitment from all actors, the SDGs have the potential to transform Africa and the world by realizing women’s and girls’ rights and the achievement of gender equality. The onus is on each one of us to make our small and big contributions and hold each other accountable!

Enjoy reading the September 2015 Issue of the E-Bulletin and other Briefs from FEMNET’s secretariat, regional and international as well as upcoming events, vacancies, online resources and much more!
