Dinah Musindarwezo

Executive Director
She is a gender equality advocate with over ten years of experience working on issues of gender and development, women’s empowerment and human rights at national, regional (Africa) and international levels.

Dinah is a feminist who is passionate about advocating for gender justice and equal rights for all. She is open-minded, positive and eager to learn from others as she believes that learning is an endless journey. Dinah is a member of UN Women Africa Regional Civil Society Advisory Group, is a Co-Chair of NGOCSW Africa and a Board member of Center for Citizens’ Participation at African Union (CCP-AU). She holds a Master’s degree in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Martin Odera

 Finance Manager
He is a holder of a Bachelors Degree in Economics and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has been with FEMNET since 2004. He coordinates the financial and accounting activities.

His duties include coordinating development of strategic budgets, financial reports and accounting for internal and external uses, coordinating audit processes, coordinates procurement activities (he is the procurement focal person), setting up and maintaining the financial, administration policies and procedures and strategies (including designing internal control system and subsequent management), monitoring and evaluating organisation’s incomes and expenditures against approved budgets and reporting on the variances (variance analysis); Conducting risk assessments (risk analysis, monitoring and mitigation) including setting up risk registers). He describes himself as modern Keynesian Economist. Martin is a great farmer and avid reader of macroeconomic issues. Crystal Simeoni

Head of Advocacy
She holds and MA in African studies and rural economic development. Her career has centered around fighting inequalities at a village level all the way to regional and global spaces and platforms using a wide range of approaches and skills which she now brings to the women’s movement.

Gender and macroeconomic issues and Illicit Financial Flows keep her up at night. She has a passion for intersectional feminism and can be found discovering new hidden spots to do interesting things across Kenya in her spare time.

For the Men to Men Regional Programme. He has been with FEMNET since 2004. Ken’s main role is to coordinate the scaling up of the Men to Men programme to cover Uganda, Malawi, Mali, Tanzania, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Since 2013, he has been working with religious and cultural leaders in Tharaka-nithi and Homabay counties in Kenya to enhance capacities and champion the ending of socio-cultural practices deeply-rooted in their communities such as female genital mutilation (FGM) and wife inheritance as a strategy to promote sexual and reproductive rights for women and girls. Catherine Nyambura

Advocacy officer
She is a young feminist activist with over 8 years’ experience in advancing gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights through movement building, digital and social media, policy advocacy and capacity building with keen focus on young women and adolescents girls.

In 2015, Catherine was acknowledged as one of 5 young African women change makers to know by this is Africa (https://thisisafrica.me/lifestyle/5-younger-women-who-are-african-change-makers-you-should-know/)

Catherine has engaged with various global and regional policy processes on gender equality, youth development including being part of the Kenyan government delegation.

Catherine is a 120 Under 40 winner; a globally competitive initiative that recognizes positive disruptions by New Generation of Family Planning & sexual and reproductive health and rights Leaders globally. She is a 2016 Mandela Fellow and sits at the Admissions Advisory Sub Committee of the East Africa YALI( Young African Leaders Initiative) Regional Leadership Centre. Catherine is a Women Deliver Young Leader and blogs with Girls Globe and at Rural Reporters, an African web based platform.

Rachel is keen to contribute and shape the gender equality and women’s rights discourse in Africa. Her extensive experience in creating and managing diverse knowledge and information platforms & products spans over 15 years.

At FEMNET, she manages the production, repackaging and dissemination of online and offline platforms and products. Rachel is a holder of Masters in Library & Information Science. She is a great team leader with strong organizing and interpersonal skills and project management. She loves reading, singing, traveling and conservation.
