Dorothy Otieno

Dorothy is a Pan-African feminist who recognises the integral role played by women in the society and thus believes women empowerment, inclusion and leadership are powerful engines for steering political, social and economic development.

Dorothy holds a Bachelor degree in Communication with a specialization in Public Relations (Honors). She has gained thirteen years’ experience working in the social development field in areas of project management, policy advocacy, evidence-based programming and strategic communication on programs centering on gender equality, gender based violence prevention, health promotion, women’s socio-economic empowerment, women’s leadership and social (disability) inclusion.

At FEMNET, Dorothy coordinates women’s transformative leadership programme that promotes gender equality and inclusive decision-making & governance in Africa.
