Engagement with Africa UNiTE
The UNiTE Campaign is a global initiative launched by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon aimed at bringing an end to violence against women and girls (VAW/G). There are three main aspects to the campaign: prevent violence, provide services to survivors and promote justice. The Africa component, Africa UNiTE, organized a Mount Kilimanjaro Climb that took place from March 5-9th, 2012. Numerous side events also took place in solidarity with the mountain climb. The report details FEMNET’s engagement with campaign, with a report on some of the solidarity events that took place.
