14th February, 2014
ATTN: Heads of State of the High Level Committee on Common Africa Position on the Post-2015 Development Agenda
Re: Common African Position (CAP) on the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
Your Excellencies,
On behalf of over 500 diverse African Women’s rights Organisations, Coalitions and Networks from across Africa who have been working on ensuring that African women’s needs, interest and realities are captured in the Post-2015 Development Agenda, we thank you for formulating and articulating the Common African Position (CAP).
As African Women’s Rights Advocates, we attach a great importance to the Common African Position as this will form the basis of Africa’s position in the global negotiation process that informs the next development agenda post MDGs. We applaud the effort you have put in place to ensure that Africa’s voice is heard loud and clear and fully integrated into the development agenda. We welcome the decision of the 22nd Ordinary Session African Union that endorsed the Common African Position on Post 2015 Development Agenda.
