International Women’s Day: Impact of the pandemic on women

The gendered effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have left many women struggling. Existing inequalities have been magnified and the milestones that had been made in some spheres have retrogressed.

On this International Women’s Day BBC’s Maggie Mutesi speaks to women rights activist Memory Kachambwe from Zimbabwe and nominated Kenyan member of parliament and lawyer Jennifer Shamala on the impact of the pandemic on women.
