FEMNET 2024 Highlights
Buckle up, because 2024 has been a buzzing year for us—think busy bees with megaphones! We’ve been on a mission to amplify women’s voices, spark policy changes, and equip champions of gender equality right across Africa.
Here’s the sweet scoop on what we’ve stirred up this year:
A Pan-African Reach- In just 12 short months, we connected, supported and worked with women and girls from 38 countries spanning all 5 African subregions and the 6th region Diaspora —our hive of influence has truly gone continental!
We have helped pollinate the African feminist ecosystem with USD 1,083,184 in Flexible Feminist Funds to 21 Women’s Rights Organizations in the continent.
We directly supported, collectively co-created, co-conspired and strategised with over 480 Women’s Rights Organizations and Civil Society Organizations with the tools, playbooks and partnerships needed to advance gender equality and women’s rights. And we didn’t stop there: more than 250 women and girls received capacity strengthening in our thematic areas of Transformative Women’s Leadership, Economic Justice and Rights, Advancing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, Climate Justice and Natural Resource Governance and Advancing Leadership of Girls and Young Women.
