Amel Samoud Khamari is currently the President of the Tunisian Association of Governance and Equal Opportunities between Women and Men in Decision-Making Positions (ATGEC). She is a communicator, writer, activist for women’s rights, with over 25 years experience working at the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, gender focal point. She participated in the development and monitoring of the implementation of women’s, family and elderly policies in the five-year plans, economic budgets and investment projects and international cooperation and to some UN and African reports on women such as the MDGs, Beijing, ICPD. She is also an ardent advocate for the strengthening of women’s access to decision-making and leadership positions while raising awareness of the importance of gender diversity in political decisions.
